The Outer Ring Road east bound in St. John’s was shut down early this afternoon near The Gushue Highway exit due to a traffic accident.
The accident apparently involved a tow truck that was heading east and with the vehicle being towed coming loose from the tow truck. Another pickup was hit in the incident.
A woman was reportedly taken to hospital, though the extent of her injuries are unknown at this time.
Diesel and other fluids leaked onto the highway and were being clean up by the St. John’s Regional Fire Department.
Traffic was being re-routed.
