ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary was called to two separate incidents of alleged shoplifting Saturday.
Shortly before 7 p.m. the RNC responded to a report of a shoplifter at a business in centre of St. John’s. A 42-year-old woman was charged with one count of theft under $5,000. She was released to appear in court at a later date.
About an hour later patrol services responded to another report of a shoplifter at a business in Mount Pearl. Police arrested and charged a 32-year-old man with theft under $,5000 and one breach of recognizance.
He was held for court in the morning.
