ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A pair of 30-something drivers with a combined nearly $37,000 in highway traffic act fines were pulled of metro region streets on Tuesday.
In the morning, Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers stopped a vehicle in the west end of St. John's and found the 32-year-old female driver owed $12,272 in fines. She also had no insurance an expired driver's license.
She earned a few more fines and was released to appear in court later.
Early Wednesday morning in Conception Bay South, a 33-year-old man caught speeding by the RNC was found to ow $24,534. He, too, did not have insurance or a driver's license.
He was given multiple summary offence tickets and released to appear in court at a later date.
