The Holy Heart Chamber has won first place at the National Music Festival school choirs competition. The choir, under the direction of Robert Colbourne, has earned the coveted Paul J. Bourret Trophy.

But it’s not the only Holy Heart group to win. The Holy Heart Bella Cantante ensemble, also under Colbourne's direction, took second place in the Small Ensemble competition, earning it the Richard W. Cooke Trophy trophy.

The Federation of Canadian Music Festivals is the umbrella organization for the 10 provincial music festivals across Canada. It organizes the National Music Festival.

The federation is under the direction of an executive committee with representatives from several provinces.

The National Music Festival offers a taped choral competition in 10 classes. Laurence Ewashko and Jakub Martinec judged 41 recorded choral entries in 10 different classes.
