Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers responded to a complaint of an assault on a taxi driver Friday night shortly after 10:30 p.m.

Two men aged 25 and 22 were charged with assault and with failing to pay their taxi fare.

Both men were released on documents to appear before a judge at a later date.
