ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — One woman has been taken to hospital by Eastern Health paramedics following a vehicle-pedestrian collision on Pitts Memorial Drive in St. John's.
Meanwhile, a second motor vehicle collision involving four vehicles occurred a short time late on the westbound side of the highway. The passenger of an overturned Honda SUV was also taken to hospital with undisclosed injuries after being freed from her vehicle by RNC officers.
One of the vehicles involved was a parked Royal Newfoundland Constabulary cruiser.
The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary has the eastbound and westbound lanes between Kilbride and downtown St. John's closed for the next several hours.
