Two pedestrians were taken to hospital Wednesday night in separate vehicle-pedestrian collisions in the metro area.
The first incident happened in the parking lot of Sobeys in Mount Pearl. A woman was struck by a car directly in front of the main entrance.
When the Telegram arrived on scene, the victim was being treated by paramedics with the St. John’s Regional Fire Department and was later transferred to an ambulance by Eastern Health paramedics.
Less than thirty minutes later a second pedestrian was struck by a vehicle at the intersection of Elizabeth Avenue and Anderson Avenue.
That victim was also taken to hospital by Eastern Health paramedics.
Neither of the injuries to the two are thought to be serious.
