Two vehicles were extensively damaged Thursday night and two people were sent to hospital during a collision at the intersection of Stavanger Drive and Torbay Road.

The collision happened at about 11:15 p.m. and sent one of the vehicles crashing into a traffic light and left the second one in the intersection. A man from one vehicle and a woman from the other were injured and hospitalized but their injuries are not believed to be serious.

There was fog in the area at the time of the incident.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is investigating the incident.
