Two-year-old Freya Chynn of Deer Lake dies of Krabbe A

In a heartfelt Facebook post the parents of two-year-old Freya Chynn shared the news of her death on Tuesday.

The daughter of Justin and Ashley Chynn of Deer Lake died on Monday of Krabbe A disease.

Her twin sister, Autumn, died of the same rare degenerative disorder in January 2017, two weeks shy of her first birthday.

The twins were diagnosed with Krabbe A when they were about six months old.

The post about her death on the family’s Facebook page “Autumn & Freya’s Journey” said: “After all the battles Freya has won it was unfortunately her time to go. We take comfort in knowing that she’s free from her beautiful but broken body this life has given her.”

The post describes the little girl as having been “so full of sass and attitude, so full of love.”

Freya’s funeral will take place at the Roman Catholic Hall in Deer Lake on Thursday.
