The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary's continue to investigate an armed robbery at the TD Bank on Merchant Drive in Mount Pearl.

The RNC has confirmed, however, that there were no shots fired during the robbery as the suspect did not use a firearm to carry out the offense.

The suspect fled the scene with an undisclosed amount of money.

EARLIER STORY

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary is at the scene of an armed robbery at the TD Bank on Merchant Drive in Mount Pearl.

Reports of shots being fired have not been confirmed, but police have confirmed an armed robbery took place. 

Identification services were at the scene photographing the outside and inside of the bank. A nearby pet supply store and sub shop were also closed and a security guard at the sub shop told The Telegram the store was on lockdown. Police were seen entering the pet store during their investigation.
