A single-vehicle rollover on Topsail Road resulted in the driver being charged with impaired driving and failing the breathalyzer.

It appears the car the male was driving hit a small embankment, tore a speed limit sign out of the ground and rolled onto its side near the Agnes Pratt seniors’ home at about 11 p.m.

While the driver was not seriously injured, he was trapped in the vehicle for a short time until firefighters determined the safest way to extricate him from his predicament. They eventually broke out the rear window of the car and the man crawled out to waiting paramedics.

Traffic was diverted away from the collision scene until the car was removed.
