St. John’s, N.L. — Two men suspected of impaired driving and refusing testing had their vehicles impounded overnight.

In the first incident, a call reported an impaired driver in the west end of St. John’s. Officers located the vehicle and reported the driver was impaired by alcohol.

A 50-year-old man was brought to the police station where he refused to provide a breath sample to officers.

He was charged with impaired driving and refusal. The vehicle was seized and his driver’s licence was suspended.

In another incident, just after 12:30 Saturday morning, the RNC stopped a vehicle in the Paradise area.

The driver failed a roadside test. The 40-year-old man was brought to the station for further testing, which he refused.

The driver was charged with refusal and released for court on a later date. As well, his vehicle was seized and his driver’s licence suspended.
