There were no vehicles damaged or pedestrians struck when a Tim Hortons sign at the Paradise outlet fell victim to the high winds on Boxing Day, and broke from its base and toppled over on Tuesday afternoon. A wind warning was issued by Environment Canada on Christmas Day forecasting “strong winds with severe and damaging gusts,” with winds of between 100 and 120 km/h. Meanwhile, high winds also stripped the sign off the Scotiabank branch on Torbay Road.
