ST. JOHN'S, N.L. — A 37-year-old woman is facing multiple charges following an alleged hit and run motor vehicle collision early this morning in St. John's.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary responded to a report a hit and run causing property damage in the city's west end just before 2:30 a.m. Once in the area, officers were able to locate the suspect vehicle and its 37-year-old driver nearby.

There were no injuries reported.

The accused was charged with impaired driving, failing to remain at the scene of an accident, and was issued several tickets under the Highway Traffic Act including no insurance and expired registration.

Police did not indicate if the woman was taken into custody or released to appear in provincial court at a later date.
