Woman injured following another moose-vehicle collision on the Avalon

A moose-vehicle collision on the Southern Shore highway sent one woman to hospital late Friday night.  

A moose-vehicle collision on the Southern Shore highway sent one woman to hospital late Friday night.

The incident happened just after 11 p.m. near Middle Pond north of Bay Bulls and left the vehicle with extensive damage. The Witless Bay volunteer fire department responded and had to deploy their fire hoses to wash the debris created by the incident from the road. Eastern Health paramedics took the woman from the scene but her injuries were not considered serious. A firefighter on scene told The Telegram that several moose have been spotted hanging around the area in recent days. The woman was the lone occupant.
