One woman was injured following a house fire on Sackville Street in St. John’s early Sunday morning.
The woman was one of two people in the home when the fire was reported just after 2:30 a.m. and when firefighters arrived on scene there was smoke and flames coming from a second-storey room.
A quick attack on the blaze had it under control within minutes but the room where the fire originated suffered extensive damage.
The rest of the home had some smoke and water damage.
The female victim was treated for smoke inhalation on scene before being taken to the hospital.
Her injuries were not considered serious.
