GRAND FALL’S-WINDSOR, NL – Louise Jones has been appointed as Central Health’s interim president and CEO by the health authority’s board of trustees.
Jones has held a number of senior executive positions at the regional and provincial level in an extensive healthcare career.
Most recently, she was chief executive officer and registrar for the Newfoundland and Labrador Council of Health Professionals.
“Ms. Jones will bring added strength and fresh perspectives to this leadership role,” Don Sturge, the board chair for Central Health, said in a news release Friday, March 23.
“Her cultivation of interdisciplinary health care environments, her commitment to quality, and her focus on people have made her a well-respected health care executive and leader.”
Jones has received the Award for Distinguished Service from the Canadian Healthcare Association and the Award for Excellence in Nursing Administration from the Association of Registered Nurses of Newfoundland and Labrador.
She starts in the position on Monday, March 26 at Central Health’s corporate office in Grand Falls-Windsor.
