A 21-year-old man was arrested in Paradise by the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary following a disturbance in a home in the community.
The RNC responded to a call around 12:35 p.m. and found the man a short distance from the home. He was arrested and charged with assault with a weapon.
He was held in lockup overnight for a court appearance on Wednesday.
At around 3 p.m., police received a call of what was thought to be a man carrying a gun in the Anspach Street area of St. John’s.
This report proved to be false but the 29-year-old suspect was sought on an outstanding arrest warrant.
He was arrested at the scene and taken to court Tuesday afternoon.
In addition, police responded to a domestic disturbance in the center city area of St. John’s.
A 31-year-old woman was arrested on an outstanding warrant. She was taken to jail and held overnight pending a court appearance on Wednesday.
