A business on Merrymeeting Road in St. John’s was the site of armed robbery during the morning commute.

The Royal Newfoundland Constabulary confirmed that the Needs store at 95 Merrymeeting was robbed around 8:30 a.m. Monday.

The weapon used in the crime was not a firearm.

The matter is under investigation.
