An apartment fire left one man displaced early Monday morning on Frontenac Street in Mount Pearl.
The blaze was reported at about 1:30 a.m. and when firefighters arrived on scene, there was smoke coming from the lower floor of the house.
St. John’s Regional Fire Department platoon chief Dean Foley told the Telegram the fire appeared to have originated in a bedroom.
The bedroom suffered fire and smoke damage while the rest of the apartment was damaged by smoke.
The Red Cross was called in to take care of the displaced tenant’s needs.
There were no injuries and the fire is under investigation.
