The weather agency says a deep low pressure system is forecast to approach Nova Scotia early tomorrow morning, March 22, before moving northeastward and cross central Newfoundland on Friday.
It will bring snow over western and northern Newfoundland beginning late Thursday.
For the rest of the island, as temperatures climb above zero, there will be a combination of snow, freezing rain, and rain.
Environment Canada says areas of the west coast that are prone to downslope easterly winds, such as the Wreckhouse and Bonne Bay, can expect strong winds late Thursday.
