Four candidates have put their names forward for six seats in a byelection in Northern Arm.
What was described as a “toxic” work environment brought about the resignation of Northern Arm Mayor Lloyd Hunter on Sept. 22, followed days later by five of six town councillors.

Nominations closed the evening of Oct. 30, with Glen Dawe, Imelda Norman, Robert Norman, and Gerald Sceviour having put their names forward for office.
According to the acting town clerk, there will be another byelection called to try to fill the remainder of the seats, though no date has been set.
