Two passersby reportedly noticed a fire Wednesday at 431 Southside Rd. in St. John’s and called 911. Firefighters rescued a mixed-breed dog. Another dog, a pit bull, ran away from the burning house when firefighters did a forced entry to get inside. The home received extensive damage. No injuries were reported. The cause of the fire is under investigation by the RNC, but does not appear to be suspicious.
