Just after 3 a.m. on the morning of Monday, Nov. 19, Grand Falls-Windsor RCMP responded to a home invasion in the community. The homeowner reported two men wearing masks broke into his residence demanding money and other property.

A physical altercation took place and the homeowner was able to remove the masks and identify the men. The altercation continued and one of the suspects sustained injuries from the homeowner.

The two men, from Grand Falls-Windsor, fled on foot and have since been located.

A 35-year-old man remains in hospital at this time and a 32-year-old man is in police custody. Both will face charges of disguising themselves with intent to commit an offence, assault with a weapon, damage to property under $5,000, break and enter into a residence and robbery. The investigation is continuing.

Police do not believe that this was a random act. The suspects and homeowner are known to each other.
