About 50 people dressed in costumes shared music, games, dancing, food, and laughter on Oct. 31 as Ability Employment Centre partnered with Random Age-Friendly Communities organization to make Halloween fun and exciting for their clients and the GATHER seniors’ group.
The young adults from the centre decorated Bill Davis Chalet and provided mini pizzas and a spooky slush. The seniors made cupcakes and shortbread.
Every door in the chalet from offices to the janitor’s closet was decorated.
At the end of the day, everyone went to all doors trick or treating. Stacy Sheppard passed out treats from her office and the booking volunteer handed out treats from the CREST office.
A senior from GATHER was behind every other door to provide treats to the trick or treaters.
Ability Employment Centre extended appreciation to GATHER, CREST and CARA for sharing in the fun and providing extra treats during the afternoon of intergenerational enjoyment. The groups look forward to further partnership opportunities.
