STEPHENVILLE, N.L. — The Bay St. George Royal Canadian Mounted Police has received multiple complaints of all-terrain (ATV) and dirt bikes operating on roads in the area.

On Monday police issued tickets to the drivers of a dirt bike and an ATV in two separate incidents.

At 8 p.m. an officer on patrol on Main Road in Lourdes saw a dirt bike crossing the highway and driving on the wrong side of the road. The dirt bike pulled in to a driveway, and the officer, in speaking with the young driver, learned the bike was not insured and issued the youth a ticket.

Later, an officer saw an ATV on the road in Lourdes turn in to a driveway and stop. In questioning the 33-year-old man driving the ATV, the officer learned it was not insured and gave the man a ticket.

Both vehicles were seized and impounded.
