NEWMANS COVE, N.L. — Following a collision north of Newman’s Cove last week, a 61-year-old Bonavista man — the driver and only occupant of the vehicle — is deceased, the Royal Canadian Mounted Police said Monday.

At about 1:50 p.m. Thursday, Bonavista RCMP received a report of the single-vehicle collision. The vehicle had left the road and struck an unoccupied building.

A senior RCMP collision analyst attended the scene. The office of the chief medical examiner is involved, police said.

The investigation is continuing.
