LABRADOR CITY, N.L. — The towns of Labrador City and Wabush have decided to limit gatherings of more than 250 people. This means the Cain’s Quest banquet scheduled for March 14 has been cancelled and the 2020 Winter Carnival has been postponed.
A joint release from the towns said the councils met this morning, March 13, to discuss what measures need be taken in Labrador West.
The release said they “understand there will be disappointment within the communities, but the Town’s need to err on the side of caution and make this prudent decision to protect our residents.”
Any residents who have purchased tickets for a Carnival event may contact the Recreation Department at 709-944-3602 to discuss refund options.
