Central Health is in the market for a new president and chief executive officer.

The central Newfoundland medical agency’s board of directors accepted the resignation of former president and CEO Andree Robichaud in a move announced Wednesday.

Robichaud joined Central Health in 2018 and will retire, according to a news release.

“In her tenure at Central Health, Andree has successfully navigated the organization through a period of tremendous change and growth,” board of directors chairperson Don Sturge stated in the release. “Her strength in bringing people together and leading the organization through the COVID-19 pandemic has been exceptional and for that we are thankful.”

Sturge credited Robichaud for the team she built in her short tenure with Central Health and said it will be a smooth transition once a new president is chosen.

“We are incredibly grateful to Andree for the energy, vision and heart that she dedicated to our organization and to the patients and families in our care across Central Newfoundland. We wish her the absolute best in all her future endeavors.” he said.

Robichaud will remain in the role until the position is filled.
