Cancer Ribbon fundraiser
Trouble Bound Studio’s ninth annual Cancer Ribbon fundraiser with proceeds going to Daffodil Place takes place from 11 a.m. to 7 p.m. Three artists at the shop plus one guest artist will dedicate the entire day to tattooing cancer ribbons for $100 plus tax each. Owner and operator Dave Munro will also donate funds from the sale of T-shirts and art prints sold during the day. To book an appointment for a tattoo, call 754-5590.

Regional food drive
The municipalities of St. John’s, Conception Bay South, Mount Pearl, Paradise, Portugal Cove-St. Philip’s and Torbay are holding a regional food drive throughout the month of February during winter festival events. In response to the recent fire at the Community Food Sharing Association warehouse, residents are encouraged to help re-stock the food bank by donating non-perishable food items when attending a community event in February.

Family Fun Day
A day of family entertainment and games at Paradise Double Ice Complex as part of the annual Snow and Ice in Paradise winter festival. The entertainment includes live music from Terry Reilly, a reptile show and a show from Wonderbolt. There will also be an opportunity for those in attendance to showcase their talents in a local talent show. This event runs from noon to 4 p.m. and costs $10 per family. Gower Street United Church hosts this unique community gathering entitled “Hope for a Winter’s Night.” The event is a quiet time of reflection through inspirational song, reading and prayer and is open to those who are grieving a loss of any type, find winter difficult, are struggling with illness, or would like a quiet space of inspiration and hope.
