CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Murphy Brothers Ltd. is taking steps to protect Corner Brook Transit riders and drivers that include cutting back the hours of service and reducing the number of riders allowed at a time.

Effective March 30, the transit will not operate between noon and 1 p.m. to allow for further sanitizing.

The transit operator has already implemented a four-passenger limit on its buses to more easily facilitate social distancing. Seats within six feet of the driver have been blocked off and riders experiencing flu-like symptoms will not be permitted aboard the bus.

A public advisory from the City of Corner Brook says further actions may be taken at a later date.
