CORNER BROOK, N.L. — The Crown and defence will present their submissions Wednesday in the bail hearing of a young man charged in connection with a crime spree that spanned from one side of Corner Brook to the other last week.
The Crown is opposed to releasing Troy Day from custody.
Day, 18, of no fixed address, is facing numerous charges in the incident that started Nov. 14 with allegations of a theft from Wal-Mart, trespassing in the Clarence Street area, a break-in at a residence, an attempted break-in at Tweed on Broadway, armed
robbery at Country Road Convenience, assaulting a police officer and evading police as they tried to apprehend him on the west side of the city in the area of Atlantic Avenue.
He’s also facing charges of theft, possession of stolen property having his face masked and possession of a weapon. It’s also alleged he stole a 2010 Toyota Tacoma and was driving it during the commission of the offences.
Day is also charged with stealing gas from White Bay Convenience near Hampton Nov. 5, possession of another stolen vehicle, a 2017 Ford Escape and numerous breaches of court orders.
