A decision on a voir dire heard in the Supreme Court of Newfoundland and Labrador this past fall regarding the attempted murder charge against Herman Boyd Randell has been set over until April 1.
Randell, 43, is accused of trying to kill a woman in Englee in November 2010.
He was charged more than 15 months after the woman was seriously injured in an overnight attack at her home.
In October, Justice David Hurley heard evidence in relation to an application filed by the defence. A publication ban prohibits the reporting of evidence presented during the voir dire.
When the matter was called before Hurley Thursday morning, the decision and the continuation of a pre-trial conference on the case was set for the April 1 date.
Randell, who lives in Corner Brook, entered a not guilty plea in Supreme Court last March. However, no trial date has yet been set, as the outcome of the voir dire could possibly affect where the matter goes from there.
