Doctor recruited for U.S. Memorial in St. Lawrence

ST. LAWRENCE, N.L. — Eastern Health has confirmed it successfully recruited a general practitioner for U.S. Memorial Health Centre in St. Lawrence.
"Eastern Health has successfully recruited a general practitioner for the U.S. Memorial Health Centre whose start date is yet to be determined," said heath authority media relations manager Allison Barter in a prepared release.
The release noted Eastern Health is also currently recruiting a second general practitioner to join the health centre.
“Physician recruitment and retention throughout the eastern region remains a priority for Eastern Health," stated the release.
"Eastern Health’s top priority is to provide quality and accessible health care to its patients, clients and residents."
Members of town council recently raised concerns over suggestions two general practitioners had planned to leave their positions at the health centre.
