Backyard Composting
The City of St. John’s, in partnership with the MMSB and the MUN Botanical Garden, offers free backyard composting information sessions to residents of St. John’s. This approximately one-hour session is at the MUN Botanical Garden. You can purchase a standard compost bin for $50 or a tumbler bin for $75 (HST included). These sessions are for St. John’s residents only. You can attend a free backyard composting information session without registering — just show up. If you will be purchasing a bin after the session, cash will be the only method of payment. Receipts will be provided.

Fluvarium’s Summer Nature Camps
Registration is now open for The Fluvarium’s summer nature camps, designed to capture the interest and the imagination of young campers ages six through 12. Fish on Long Pond, swim at the Aquarena, relax in the forest and explore nature through engaging and thought-provoking programs. Join the Autism Society of Newfoundland and Labrador for an evening to discuss residential options for those on the autism spectrum. Hear from a mother, an aunt, a woman on the spectrum, a housing advocate and an autism professional about the unique realities those on the spectrum face when looking for a place to live. Panelists include Trudy Goold, Jacqueline Cooke, David Philpott, Bruce Pearce and Janet Miller Pitt. The discussion will be moderated by Anthony Germain. Doors open at 7 p.m. at the Suncor Energy Hall at the MUN school of music, with discussion beginning at 7:30 p.m. All are welcome to attend. Opening reception for a non-juried exhibition presented by members of the Botanical Art Society of Newfoundland and Labrador at the Memorial University Botanical Garden.
