FLOWER'S COVE, N.L. — A 19-year-old man from Flower’s Cove has been charged with multiple offences, including theft of a motor vehicle, after a traffic stop near the St. Anthony Airport last Friday.
RCMP were on patrol inn the area and observed a vehicle driving at a high rate of speed.
Officers stopped the driver and discovered the vehicle had been stolen.
The driver was arrested and charged with theft of a motor vehicle, possession of property obtained by crime and breach of probation.
The man was also ticketed under the Highway Traffic Act for exceeding the speed limit by 51 km/h.
His driver’s license was suspended for seven days.
He was released from custody and will appear in court on a future date.
