Labrador woman's cause of death ruled undetermined

HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, N.L. — The results of an autopsy on a 23-year-old Labrador woman found dead in Happy Valley-Goose Bay in November 2019 show the cause of death as undetermined.

A spokesperson for the RCMP said the autopsy report on Tama Bennett was received from the Office of the Chief Medical Examiner on Jan. 15. The investigation is ongoing and RCMP said it remains a priority.

No further information will be released while the investigation is ongoing, the spokesperson said.

Bennett was found deceased in a wooded area of town in the early morning hours. A vigil for the young woman from Nain was held shortly after.
