HAPPY VALLEY-GOOSE BAY, N.L. — The Safe Alliance in Happy Valley-Goose Bay will be starting its annual Pride Week celebrations today, July 8 and will have a new event this year. For the first time ever there will be an all-ages Pride Drag and Talent Night, which will happen on Saturday, July 13 at the Kinsman Club.

“People are encouraged to come as a "king" or "queen" for a fun night of music and anyone wanting to show their talent can sign up at any of our events,” the Safe Alliance wrote in a press release.

As usual, Saturday will also include the annual Pride march and Pride in the Park event at Kinsman Park.

There will be more events spread out across the week, including Pride Boil Up at Gosling Park and a movie night at College of the North Atlantic.

People can find a detailed schedule on the Safe Alliance Facebook page. All events have free admission.

“Allies are welcome and we continue to remember that this is a celebration as well as a call for awareness and support,” said the Safe Alliance.
