CORNER BROOK, N.L. — An investigation into an alleged assault in Corner Brook on Tuesday resulted in a double arrest after the victim in one incident became the accused in another.
It all started at around 10:36 a.m. when police responded to a report of an assault.
The complainant, a 42-year-old woman, told police she’d been assaulted by a person known to her.
The woman had visible minor injuries.
Police then located the alleged suspect, a 39-year-old man, who also had minor injuries he claimed had been inflicted by the woman.
As a result of the investigation, and the fact each of them appeared to have been assaulted by the other, both the man and woman were arrested and charged with assault.
Both are residents of the city.
They were released to appear in provincial court at a later date.
