In the small town of Clarenville (pop. 6000) where hockey is the dominant sport and the local rink is the place where friendships are formed between players and their families, the tragedy impacts many.
From Clarenville, to Gander, Marystown and beyond minor hockey families offered their condolences and on many front porches in Newfoundland and Labrador today, a lone hockey stick is an expression of sympathy for the family of the young boy.
