CORNER BROOK, N.L. — Royal Newfoundland Constabulary officers in Corner Brook arrested and charged a 57-year-old man Sunday for assault with a weapon following a month-long investigation.

The incident is alleged to have occurred on Sept. 5. The victim, whom police say is known to the accused and vice versa, did not sustain life-threatening injuries in the assault.

The accused was released to appear in court at a later date under conditions that he not contact the victim.
