ST. ANTHONY, N.L.

The St. Anthony Christmas Parade was the best it has been in a long time.

The parade, put off each year by the St. Anthony Lions Club, was held on Saturday, Dec. 8 and was in memory of Donny Powell.

St. Anthony Lions Club president Cyril Simmonds says the parade got its best participation in many years, with approximately 15 floats participating.

He believes this was helped by at least three floats who paid tribute to Donny Powell, who passed away earlier this fall.

Powell was a big supporter of the parade all through the years.

Simmonds wished to thank all the participants and the entire community for its help in pulling off the event.
