ST. ANTHONY, N.L. — Residents of St. Anthony rolled up their red and white-striped socks and marched down the street to raise money for the Ronald McDonald House for once again this year.
The Red Shoe Crew Walk has become an annual event in St. Anthony, raising thousands of dollars for the Ronald McDonald House, a home away from home for sick children and their families while being treated at the Janeway Children's Hospital.
This year's walk was held on Sept. 14, departing from the Lions Club with the St. Anthony Volunteer Fire Department escorting more than 40 participants.
The crew raised $4,100 by Sept. 16, with money still coming in from sock sales and donations.
