The Town of Carbonear has pulled its plows off the roads for now, but are keeping their operators on standby should there be an emergency at Carbonear General Hospital or elsewhere in the community.

The Avalon North Wolverines Search and Rescue group that is based in Bay Roberts advised people in its area via Facebook that they would be opening their building as a warming centre should Bay Roberts lose power.

Meanwhile, The Town of Come By Chance has declared a state of emergency.

Power is currently out in parts of Upper Island Cove and Bryants Cove in Conception Bay North, as well as parts of the Burin Peninsula.
