Business & Arts NL and Cox & Palmer will launch a new public piano at the St. John’s Farmers’ Market, 245 Freshwater Rd., featuring a rockin’ performance by our own Mick Davis. This piano features artwork by Julie Lewis of SassyTuna.

Enjoy playing board games? Then come participate in the fun of sharing a potluck meal and an evening playing games with others. Bring your family. Spring flower show
The Newfoundland Horticultural Society and Floral Design Group are having their annual spring flower show on Saturday, May 25 from noon to 5 p.m. and Sunday, May 26, from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. at the MUN Botanical Garden, 306 Mt. Scio Rd. Come see what can be grown locally. On display will be cuttings from NHS members’ gardens and FDG arrangements made from local materials. Drop in and be delighted by what spring has offered. Warrior: Songs of Strength and Sisterhood
Join Lady Cove Women’s Choir and Eastern Owl as they explore the bonds of womanhood and stories of sisterhood through song on June 1 at 8 p.m. at First Light Centre for Performance and Creativity, Cochrane Street United Church, 81 Cochrane St. A shared concert between two of Newfoundland and Labrador’s accomplished all-women musical groups, “Warrior” celebrates soulful harmonies, large-ensemble writing, healing through music, and empowerment. Eastern Owl and Lady Cove will each perform an individual set, and then share a set of music together, a gesture in understanding and support between indigenous and non-indigenous communities. Food, Stories and Songs of this Place
The Department of Folklore, in partnership with MUN Folklore and Language Archive, the Folklore Studies Association of Canada and the St. John's Storytelling Festival, are celebrating 50 years of folklore education in Newfoundland and Labrador and we want you to celebrate with us on June 1. A standing reception with local food, beverages, music and familiar faces from 7-8 p.m. will be followed by artists sharing great stories and songs with a local connection. Walk for Alzheimer’s
Across Newfoundland and Labrador over 9,000 individuals are living with dementia, and this number is growing. The Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland and Labrador supports people living with dementia, their families and care partners, but they need your help. On May 26, you can make a difference for families facing dementia in our province by participating in the IG Wealth Management Walk for Alzheimer’s. Gather your friends, family or co-workers for a day of fun, fitness and raising much needed awareness.
