ST. ANTHONY
A 50-year-old St. Anthony man is facing an impaired driving charge after a member of the public reported him to the police.
The Royal Canadian Mounted Police say they received a report of a suspected impaired driver in the area of Goose Cove road in St. Anthony just before 5 p.m. on May 31. Police located the green Chevrolet Camaro in question and found the driver to be impaired.
He was arrested and taken to the detachment where he provided breath samples that indicated his blood/alcohol concentration was nearly twice the legal limit.
The man was released from custody, however, his licence has been suspended and his car impounded for 30 days. He’ll appear in provincial court on the impaired driving charge at a later date.
