TWILLINGATE, N.L. — A 44-year-old Summerford man had a dirt bike seized for allegedly speeding, not wearing a helmet and not having insurance.
Twillingate RCMP said at about 5 p.m. on April 5, members were on patrol in the Town of Summerford and saw a dirt bike driving on the road towards them at a high rate of speed. According to RCMP, the radar readings showed the dirt bike’s speed was more than 40 km/hr over the posted speed limit.
RCMP pulled over the man, who police say was not wearing a helmet and driving without insurance. Police seized and impounded the dirt bike for 30 days and the man was ticketed.
