The Western Regional Service Board is implementing a two-week transition plan that will see transfer stations on the west coast reopening their residential drop-off areas on May 25.
Access to the stations have been temporarily suspended due to the COVID-19 pandemic.
The Burgeo and Long Range transfer stations will be open to residents during regular operating hours.
Southwest coast and White Bay South (Hampden) transfer stations will be open to residents during regular operating hours from Monday to Saturday according to an alphabetical order for surnames.
Residents using the Wild Cove and St. George’s sites will also have to follow an alphabetical order Monday to Friday from May 25 to 29 and June 1 to 5. These two sites will be open from 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.
The Wild Cove and St. George’s sites will be closed to residential drop-off on May 30 and June 6. The sites will be open for commercial users only on those two days.
The alphabetical order for Wild Cove, St. George’s, Southwest Coast and White Bay is:
Monday — Surnames A-E
Tuesday — Surnames F-J
Wednesday — Surnames K-O
Thursday — Surnames P-T
Friday — Surnames U-Z.
Drop-off guidelines
Users of all sites must follow the direction of the designated spotters as to where to drop off their specific waste material. Waste material should be sorted within vehicles for quick offloading at the designated areas.
Safe physical distancing of two metres (six feet) must be maintained from staff and others. People should anticipate delays as the sites may be busy and they must remain in their vehicles.
Residential accounts must be in good standing and people should have their account cards ready before entering the site. Stay home if you are not well.
