Walter Williams, 64, was arrested at his Whitbourne home by police and charged with possession of child pornography last week.
The arrest took place after the Royal Canadian Mounted Police/Royal Newfoundland Constabulary executed a search warrant at Williams homes in relation to an investigation started in September of this year.
Williams was taken to provincial court in Harbour Grace.
The RCMP says the investigation is still underway at that Williams could face additional charges relating to online child exploitation and a loaded rifle seized from the home.
