Police with the Royal Newfoundland Constabulary were kept busy Friday into Saturday, with 244 calls for service from 4 a.m. to 4 a.m., including two alleged armed robberies Friday night.
The first call came from a business on Topsail Road in Paradise, according to a police report. The name of the business has not been released.
According to the RNC, the call came at 9:30 p.m. and an individual left the business prior to police arriving at the scene, taking with them an unknown amount of cash.
There were no injuries reported and the investigation is ongoing.
Soon after that call, at 9:40 p.m., there was another report of an armed robbery, at a business on St. Clare Avenue in St. John’s. As with the first, police say an individual left the scene before RNC arrived, taking with them an unknown amount of cash.
Again, there were no reported injuries and the investigation is ongoing.
While both cases were timed close together, police have not issued any indication the cases are linked.
